THEO GALLINO
è nato a Poirino (TO) nel marzo
del 1957.
Ha frequentato gli studi come grafico
pubblicitario.
Oltre alla pittura si dedica alla grafica
passando dalla calcografia alla
seriagrafia e litografia in particolare che
esegue nel suo studio a Pessione (TO).
Elemento costante ed al tempo
medesimo "filo conduttore" della sua
ricerca espressiva sono, da sempre, le problematiche relative
al concetto
di protezione di cui il pluriball è divenuto
l'elemento simbolo seguendo una
precisa e ponderata trasformazione nel
corso degli anni.
Il polietilene a bolle (pluriball) è stato
da lui utilizzato, negli ultimi dieci anni,
sfruttandone le molteplici potenzialità;
partendo dalle prime tele fotosensibili
per
passare attraverso l'impiego del
materiale medesimo fino ad approdare
alle pittografie attuali il pluriball
ha, infatti, costituito l'elemento fisico
attraverso cui filtrare ed al tempo
medesimo proteggere e mediare soggetti appartenenti alle più
disparate realtà
quotidiane.
THEO GALLINO
was born in 1957 in Poirino, Turin.
He
studied as a commercial artist.
Working in his studio at Pessione,
Turin, he dedicates himself to painting as
well as graphic work, ranging from
chalcography to serigraphy and particularly lithography.
Issues connected with the concept of
protection have been the constant theme
and thread of his research; through a
precise and deliberate transformation over
the years, they came to be materially
symbolized by bubble wrap.
For the past ten years the artist has
been manipulating bubble wrap to
exploit its potential. From the early
photosensitive canvases to
the use of the material itself and
the current pictographs, bubble wrap
has physically represented the
medium through which to
filter and at the same time protect and
mediate between objects belonging to the
most diverse daily instances.
